Dan Wan, a student in T九色视频鈥檚 civil engineering PhD program, is the winner of the University Transportation Center Outstanding Student of the Year Award from the . Wan won for her thesis entitled: 鈥淐alibrating Safety Performance Functions for Intersections in New York City: Relaxing the Functions in Space.鈥
Her paper rigorously analyzed intersection crashes in New York City by regressing local safety data at the jurisdiction level. 鈥淭he safety performance functions developed in this study will serve as important predicting tools for New York City transportation agencies and practitioners,鈥 said Wan, whose concentration is .
The UTRC honors students based on their interest in transportation research and academic performance. Students are awarded a scholarship and sponsored travel to Washington, D.C. for The Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting.
Wan received her M.S. and B.S. in transportation engineering from China鈥檚 Huazhong University of Science and Technology where she focused on traffic impact analysis, transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems and urban study. She is doing her work at CCNY in the Grove School of Engineering.
