English Professor Pamela Laskin talks politics and literature

City College of New York English Professor Pamela Laskin presents 鈥淧olitics and Social Issues in Young Adult Literature,鈥 as part of the Conversations in Engaged Scholarship series. The presentation is Thursday, May 4, 4 - 5:30 p.m. in CCNY鈥檚 Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture鈥檚 Sciame Auditorium.

The forum features City College faculty sharing their research and creative scholarship that impact public policy, reform, and the civic, social, political or environmental landscape.

Director of the college鈥檚 Poetry Outreach Center, Laskin is a poet and children's book author with several publications; her latest, 鈥溾 (Harper Collins, 2017), is a novel in verse for young adults that retells the story of Romeo and Juliet  in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She is also the author of 鈥溾 (Plain View Press, 2015), an edited anthology; 鈥溾 (Little Balloon Press, 2014), a children's book; and 鈥溾 (Cervena Barva Press, 2013), a poetry book.
