Lynn Appelbaum
In honor of her 鈥渟ignificant contribution to the advancement of public relations education through college or university teaching,鈥 Lynn Appelbaum, director of the and professor in t九色视频鈥檚 Department of Media & Communication Arts, receives the Public Relations Society of America鈥檚 .
A public relations professional and educator for more than 30 years, Appelbaum joined the CCNY faculty in 1993. She is a founding faculty member of CCNY鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree program in , which launched in 2013. She organized the college鈥檚 first PRSSA chapter in 1996 and continues to serve as its faculty advisor. In 2008, she received The City College Alumni Association鈥檚 Faculty Service Award. CCNY honored her in 2014 by creating a scholarship in her name.
Appelbaum served as co-principal of a PRSA Foundation-sponsored study highlighting the challenges facing young minority and multicultural PR pros. Entitled 鈥,鈥 the study looks at the day-to-day workplace experience of these professionals and measures their perception of how they are welcomed, supported and valued in their workplaces.
Appelbaum remains dedicated to creating scholarship opportunities for deserving students and to building strong relationships with leading agencies for student internships and entry-level hires.
