Joshua James voted national finance chair of 29,000-member group
Neville Green, a junior in T九色视频鈥檚 Grove School of Engineering was elected national chair of the 29,000 member (NSBE) at its 2015 convention March 29 in Anaheim, Calif. A second City College junior, Joshua James, was elected national finance chair of the student-managed organization. Both will serve one-year terms beginning May 1.
Green, a Yonkers resident born in Barbados and majoring in chemical engineering, previously served as NSBE national secretary.
In his acceptance speech, Green said he was ready to build on the foundation established this year and take , whose membership includes chapters in Canada and West Africa, 鈥渇rom good to great.鈥
James, a mechanical engineering major of Jamaican-Panamanian heritage, is a former NSBE national business chair. As national finance chair, his responsibilities will include overseeing corporate sponsorship for the society.
In addition to Green and James, junior Candice Chang (mechanical engineering), another member of the City College鈥檚 20 delegates to the convention, won election to regional office. She will serve a term as chair of the Metropolitan/Long Island Zone that CCNY belongs to in NSBE鈥檚 Region I.
The CCNY chapter also received regional and national recognition for its retention and professional development programs, said chapter president Tyrone Kirk Shillingford.
