Oriol Brull Named 2017 Art Stevens PRSA N.Y./CCNY Scholar

Scholarship celebrates 10 years of support for outstanding public relations students

Oriol Brull, a student in the Advertising/Public Relations Program at T九色视频, has been named the 2017 Art Stevens PRSA-NY/ CCNY Scholar for Excellence in Public Relations. He will receive a $5,000 scholarship for his continued study at CCNY during his senior year. This year marks the 10th year that Art Stevens has funded this scholarship to support rising talent.

Stevens, managing partner of The Stevens Group and a CCNY alumnus, created the scholarship in 2008 to support talented students majoring in communications. His commitment to both and the City College Communications Alumni Group inspired him to name the scholarship for both organizations.  Stevens scholars are recognized at the annual spring CCNY Communications Alumni Group Awards and at the .

鈥淥riol represents the best of our Advertising/PR students and PRSSA. Beyond his stellar academic record, Oriol has demonstrated his passion for our industry as a PRSSA CCNY chapter leader and as a competitive intern for multiple agencies.  Personally and professionally, he is a model for any aspiring PR student,鈥 said CCNY professor Lynn Appelbaum.

With a strong foundation in social media integrated communications, Oriol currently interns at SociedAD, a division of Campbell-Ewald. He was a social media intern at Batten & Co., an Omnicom Company. His expert reporting skills, coupled with his passion for cars, earned him a spot in the 2016 鈥淕M Discover Your Drive Journalism Experience,鈥 a national student competition, to cover the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

鈥淎rt Stevens鈥檚 support plays an essential role in student success because it alleviates the tuition burden, so students can focus on their academics and careers,鈥 said Ed Keller, professor and Ad/PR program director. 鈥淏eyond the financial support, Art continues to mentor his scholars and has built a family of Stevens Scholar alumni who meet annually to support each other.  Art is a role model in our industry.鈥

They are: Anne Tan 鈥09 (Queens Botanical Garden, Marketing Manager), Isabella Safiyeva 鈥10 (Blue Card, Senior Program Director), Kellie Jelencovich 鈥11 (MSL, Account Supervisor), Asaf Breier 鈥12 (Douglas Elliman Real Estate Sales and Development), Caterine Molina Barfell 鈥13 (Ketchum, Senior Account Executive), Brent Reams 鈥14 (Newell Brands, Associate PR Manager),  Khaled Hassan 鈥15 (graphic design student, Shillington School), Susan Akinyi 鈥16 (Y&R, Account Executive) and Troy Blackwell 鈥17, 2016 White House Intern, now finishing his senior year.
