
CCNY adjunct lecturer and writer Hasanthika Sirisena has won the 2015 Juniper Prize for fiction.
, adjunct lecturer in creative writing at T九色视频, has won the 2015 Juniper Prize for fiction for her short story collection 鈥淭he Other One.鈥 The book will be published in spring 2016 by the University of Massachusetts Press, which gives out the award.
Sirisena鈥檚 stories have appeared in such publications as 鈥淣arrative,鈥 鈥淭he Kenyon Review,鈥 鈥淕limmer Train,鈥 鈥淓poch鈥 and 鈥淪toryQuarterly.鈥 Her work has been anthologized in 鈥淏est New American Voices鈥 and named a notable story by Best American Short Stories in 2011 and 2012.
A 2006 alumna of the Division of Humanities and the Arts鈥&苍产蝉辫;MFA program in creative writing at City College, Sirisena is a recipient of fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. She received the Rona Jaffe Writers Award in 2008.
She also serves as associate fiction editor at the literary magazine 鈥淲est Branch.鈥
