The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by President Boudreau. He asked for a motion to approve the March 11 Cabinet minutes which was carried by Chair Stark and seconded by Executive Counsel Occhiogrosso. He proceeded to give the following announcements:

  1. There will be a solar eclipse happening at about 3:30pm. At the same time, there will be a CUNY-wide walkout in support of the Students for Justice in Palestine on both 42nd Street and the Quad at CCNY, so everyone should be cognizant of this.

  2. There is currently an investigation into antisemitism on campus by the Latham & Watkins law firm across CUNY campuses. So far, they have spoken to President Boudreau, VP Mozeleski, Executive Counsel Occiogrosso, CDO Konigsberg and Dr. Watson. President Boudreau encouraged all departments to continue with their strategies to reduce student anxiety on campus and applauded the work that has been done thus far on a college level.

  3. The budget conversations at the state level is nearing its end, and announcements will be made in the coming days. If there are any updates from the Council of Presidents meeting on April 17, an email will be sent out from the President鈥檚 Office.

  4. A memo regarding first amendment audits in CUNY spaces will be sent out for general review. A conversation broke out surrounding the understanding and demarcation of public and private space on campus.

  5. City College has been in collaboration with EMSI/Lightcast to evaluate the economic impact of the college on the communities it works with. The previous impact study showed an impact of 1.2 billion and the one set to be released shows an impact of 3.2 billion. There will be an official release of the study in the coming weeks, and every department is expected to utilize this information for future communications and marketing.

Action Item: After reading the First Amendment Audit Memo, everyone should decide what indoor spaces they would like to mark as public, and come back to the April 29 Cabinet meeting with questions about access.

Action Item: AVP Nwosu-Stewart and Director Williams will work together to deliver enrollment conversion rates before the April 29 Cabinet meeting.

 

COO Gurba announced that an award letter has been submitted to a food vendor for the college. The vendor company is Aladdin and it currently has a contract with John Jay Community College. Over the course of the coming weeks, the contract will be drawn up and negotiated. The goal is to roll out this service for the Fall 2024 semester.

 

Action Items:
