The meeting was called to order at 10:01 am by President Boudreau. He moved into his announcements which were as follows:
-
The FY 2024 mid-year financial report from the CUNY CFO was distributed to all of Cabinet for their review
-
There will be a substantial discussion regarding the PMP process in the coming weeks following the strategic outline sent by CUNY recently.
-
There was an update on lobbying season and the conversations thAt have been had thus far with elected officials both in Albany and in the district. There are potential considerations to fund the CUNY labor contract.
AVP De Los Santos gave an update on side-by-side student surveys that the Student Affairs team conducted over fall and spring orientations from Spring 2023 to Spring 2024. President Boudreau expressed the importance of assessing the impact of such events in preliminary budget drafting for the coming years. AVP De Los Santos outlined adjustments that had been put into effect based on student suggestions, such as:
-
Decreased length of the program
-
More participation from CCNY students to speak on their experiences on campus
-
Parallel orientation for parents and families
He also shared plans and goals for future orientations, and the numbers were distributed among Cabinet members for their personal review.
The conversation moved to a review of the PMP process based on the recent outline shared by CUNY. President Boudreau shared CUNY鈥檚 desire to have each individual college's internal PMP structure to align with the plan for the whole university. COO Gurbafurther broke down the plan which centers around four broad categories:
-
Be a National Leader in Providing Access to Higher Education for Diverse Populations of Students
-
Improve ability to boost student outcomes and eliminate academic equity gaps with innovative curriculum and support for our world-class staff and faculty
-
Advance Our Community Through Comprehensive Research, Engagement and Service
-
Modernize the CUNY System
He informed Cabinet members of the next deadline for submission which will be in June 2024. A portion of the meeting was spent discussing the college鈥檚 contribution to the process. Any further contributions by the divisions should be emailed to Anna Marie Villajin in the President鈥檚 Office with鈥漃MP鈥 included in the subject line. These will then be discussed over the course of the next few Cabinet meetings.

The conversation was moved to commencement, which encapsulated strategies for the coming year and the graduate student commencement for Spring 2024. The deans met with Provost Liss the previous week to discuss a potential run of show and possible number of students and families who will be in attendance for the ceremony. It was eventually concluded, based on budget constraints and member contributions, that the graduate commencement ceremony will not be held this year and talks can resume concerning it starting next year.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:17pm.
