President Boudreau called the meeting to order at 10 a.m.

Agenda

 

  1. Review of August 18th Minutes

    • Ken Ihrer was present at the 8/18 meeting, need to move his name from absent to present

    • No further changes were required, minutes were adopted

       

  2. President鈥檚 Announcements

    • ICE Raids 鈥 The President will be scheduling a table top discussion to include liaisons from the Divisions, Deans or their designee, Public Safety, and Student Affairs, that will focus on protocols on campus including communications relative to ICE raids. Need to be prepared to communicate with faculty, staff, and students. Reminder, that Paul is the key contact regarding any documentation ICE may present.

    • COPs meeting feedback 鈥 President Boudreau shared the CUNY memo on budget. Scott and his team have identified potential avenues for saving if there is a mid-year cut, and areas where we can cut back on spending. Looking to not sacrifice hires thus far, however, everyone needs to have crystal clear conversations with their staff so there are no surprises.

    • Student Affairs 鈥 Student Affairs is currently in the hiring process for a new Intramurals Director with a potential start date October 16, 2025, and he asks that all Cabinet members support event roll outs regarding Intramurals.

    • Website 鈥 Keep an eye out for a future meeting to discuss websites issues/concerns/challenges, Marie is coordinating.

    • Training 鈥 Scott鈥檚 office will send an announcement on mandatory training that all CCNY employees must complete in order to be in compliance. The trainings have moved into Brightspace, all three trainings will appear when you log in. Need to complete it as soon as possible. Potential repercussions as this is a contractual obligation. If you are a supervisor, there is additional training. Cybersecurity is a new, mandatory training.

       

  3. IT Reorganization (Scott & Ken)

    • Vern Ballard, Director of Frontline Services from IT presented to the Cabinet via a PowerPoint presentation regarding the IT Reorganization.

    • CUNY is monitoring everything centrally.

    • There will be a restructuring of frontline services that you interact with on a regular basis.

    • This is in addition to responding to security incidents, tickets (currently 1000) as well as approximately 50 projects.

  4. Workday Walkthrough (Scott)

    • Presentation by Scott 鈥 CUNYWork Update

      • Will be a two-year process, with two updates a year

      • Partial replacement of CUNYFirst

      • It is a tag, attached to Workday, it is part of an ERP

      • Implementing a similar ticketing system that IT has with HR and Finance

      • Approvers need to approve in order to keep the process moving, otherwise it will cause delay and have major challenges, this also forces people to get things done and in a timely fashion

      • How we navigate our offices, necessary component - have to hold people accountable, need to be informed and motivated

  5. PMP/Major Project Planning

    • The President reviewed the response from CUNY Central regarding the PMP

    • Begin work specifically on modeling Graduate Education

      • Systematically elevate this project through cabinet, assign point person

      • Implementing plan for these goals

      • Senior Staff asked for

        • Finance Team 鈥 Cost benefit analysis across the board with all Master鈥檚 program, tuition revenues, operating, etc.

        • Data on where our graduates go and review the labor market analysis

        • On the Academic side, begin to use that data to talk about any revisions needed, do we have the right programs in place, greatest effect for our student and financially feasible for the College

        • How we track and do better about our student placements, etc.

        • Deans a few years ago did the data on the financial analysis, can be updated

        • Assess AI as well (specifically hitting architecture)

        • Arts Graduates program, MFA in Art, one of the top ranked programs, success may look different for these graduates

        • Think about how the recruitment looks like, in terms of undergraduate as well

        • Graduate Center is more than just doctorate, but also Master鈥檚 students as well

        • How can we provide more scholarships to graduate students to increase enrollment in this area

        • Inventory of all our Master鈥檚 Program, where we may aspire to new programming, what is the need in the field, how can we position ourselves

        • Across the board analysis, financial, and labor market, then more broadly

        • Only one master鈥檚 program online, pending a second one, but need to be prepared in terms of competition in other areas/countries (working nationally and internationally, we may be left behind)

        • Will come back at the end of the month to further discuss

          Other

    • Food services is back up and running with a new executive chef and director. There is also a new espresso machine and a kosher grab and go. They are also bringing in new health bars since it's close to the gym. If there are any concerns that need to be addressed, there is a new food services email to provide feedback and address concerns.
