Kookmin University Korean Language & Culture Program, Seoul

Summer 2026 | Program Dates: June 30th - July 23rd | Credits: 

Seoul is one of Asia's most dynamic and vibrant capital cities, blending ancient traditions with cutting-edge modernity. South Korea offers students the opportunity to experience a unique cultural landscape where centuries-old palaces stand alongside futuristic skyscrapers. This cosmopolitan yet distinctly Korean environment provides an immersive setting for language learning and cultural discovery. Studying in Seoul allows you to enhance your Korean language skills while experiencing authentic Korean cuisine, K-pop culture, traditional arts, and the warmth of Korean hospitality. Students will be exposed to contemporary Korean society and its influence on global culture in the 21st century.

Courses

Kookmin University's Korean Language Center offers Korean language instruction and cultural immersion courses. Choose three to six credits from the list below:

• Korean Language Education (Basic Korean)
• Korean Culture & Society
• Contemporary Korean Popular Culture
• Korean Traditional Arts & Heritage

Cultural experiences and field trips include: Kookmin University Museum & traditional tea ceremony, K-pop dance class, Taekwondo lesson, Korean cooking class, all-day excursion to Lotte World theme park.

You must apply and register through the CCNY Study Abroad Office. Online registration will not be available. Participants will transfer the credits from Kookmin University. The course and credit will appear on your transcript.

Program Details:

• Duration: 3 weeks (June 30 - July 23, 2026)
• Class Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Korean language instruction)
• Cultural Activities: Select afternoons throughout the week
• Dormitory accommodation available on campus
