Explorations in Architecture – AES 19903
Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 31, 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., 3 credits
Description: Students will engage in a series of exercises that blend observation, analysis, and design through drawing, physical modeling, and digital tools. The course begins with a precedent study, where each student will research and present an architectural project, analyzing its spatial strategies, material qualities, and relationship to nature. Each week, students will spend 30 minutes doing a series of freehand sketches with various mediums and subjects as a collective exercise.
Introduction to Theatre Arts – THTR 13100 (Creative Expression)
Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 31, 10:00 a.m. – 12:45 a.m., 3 credits
Description: The related creative arts of playwright, director, actor and designer; their collective contributions to the form of the play that ultimately evolves on stage. Discussion of the institutions in contemporary American theatre.
Applications of Psychology in the Modern World – PSY 10200 - ONLINE
Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 31, 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., 3 credits (camera must be on during the class and microphone on mute, unless speaking)
Description: An introduction to the study of human development and learning, personality and motivation, sex differences, attitudes, aggressions, interpersonal attraction, behavior in groups and work settings, abnormal behavior, and its treatment. Emphasizes on how psychological theory and research can be applied to individual and social problems. Students are responsible for submitting research papers on related topics.
Introduction to Journalism – MCA 23300 HYBRID
Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 31, 10:00 a.m. – 12:45 a.m., 3 credits The class meets online synchronous on Wednesdays
Description: This course introduces students to the basics of reporting and writing for the print and broadcast media. A hands-on course, students learn the rigors of journalism through covering stories.
Introduction to Drawing – ART 10200
Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 31, 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., 3 credits
Description: Drawing emphasizing fundamentals of visual perception, representation, abstraction, and pictorial organization. Introduction to the practice and articulation of elements of drawing involving composition, armature, structure, form, volume, line, texture, value, and space. Observation and specific problems stress experimentation with a variety of drawing materials including dry and aqueous media. Various papers and drawing surfaces are also examined during the course.
