Now in its twentieth year, the Building Bridges: Career Fair and Networking Mixer has become one of the most anticipated events for Advertising and Public Relations (Ad/PR) students at City College. Hosted by the Department of Media and Communication Arts, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and City College鈥檚 chapter of American Advertising Federation (AAF), the event took place this year on November 6 in Shepard Hall. The Publishing Certificate Program (PCP) has formed a new and exciting partnership with the nonprofit Inkluded, which shares the PCP mission to actively 鈥渢rain and place young people from underrepresented groups into their first publishing jobs.鈥 Inkluded will work with the director of the PCP to bring free events on the publishing industry to both PCP students and graduate students in English, including one talk on publishing from the point of view of creative writers designed for CCNY鈥檚 MFA and English MA graduate students. Supported by funding from the H&A Mellon Foundation grant, the Humanities Experiential Learning Partnership Seminars (HELPS) program allows Humanities & Arts faculty the unique opportunity to plan and implement a seminar in partnership with a NYC-based museum, archive, or cultural center in order to create unique learning experiences with hands-on research for a small cohort of students.
