Williams to Receive Langston Hughes Medal NEW YORK, March 3, 2009 – World-renowned philosopher, scholar and author Dr. Kwame Anthony Appiah will deliver the second annual City College of New York President’s Lecture at CCNY 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10. City College art lecturer Tom Thayer , a performance artist who “operates at the intersection of the hand-crafted and the technological,” will premiere one of his live performances and give a talk about his work at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) 7 p.m. Monday, December 16. Mr. Thayer’s work explores shifts that occur when a three-dimensional object, such as a collage or sculpture, is represented in another medium.
