Angelo Lampousis, Ph.D.
Angelo Lampousis, Ph.D., is the inaugural Executive Director of the Rangel Infrastructure Workforce Initiative, where he leads strategy, employer engagement, and the expansion of skills-based training that opens pathways to high-demand infrastructure and clean energy careers.
Dr. Lampousis brings more than a decade of academic and technical experience to this role, including service as a Lecturer and Academic Advisor in CCNY鈥檚 Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, where he earned tenure in 2018. He has extensive credentials as an OSHA-authorized outreach trainer in construction, general industry, and HAZWOPER, as well as certification from the Urban Green Council as a GPRO instructor in construction management, operations and maintenance, and green building fundamentals.
A recognized leader in workforce innovation, he has developed EPA- and NIST-funded curricula and manages federal and state workforce grants including the U.S. EPA鈥檚 Brownfields Job Training Program. His contributions have earned national recognition, including ASTM International鈥檚 Professor of the Year Award (2019) and City & State鈥檚 Responsible 100 honor (2024).
Dr. Lampousis鈥檚 research focuses on environmental contamination and standards-based learning. His recent (2023) examined legacy coastal contamination in the Northern Aegean Sea with CCNY student co-authors, and he contributed a case study to (Purdue University Press, 2023).
He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Geophysics and an M.Phil. in Earth & Environmental Science from the CUNY Graduate Center.
