CCNY student engineers excel at national Chem-E-Car finals

T九色视频鈥檚 American Institute of Chemical Engineering chapter is back from the 2015 Annual Student Conference Chem-E-Car Competition庐 in Salt Lake City with the Spirit of Competition Award. In addition, two members of the City College team, seniors Sneha Gopal and Pavel Shapturenka, both received awards in AIChE鈥檚 national poster competition. Registration for continuing students for the winter and spring semesters begins on Wednesday, Nov. 18 and ends on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Winter classes run from Monday, Jan. 4 to Monday, Jan. 25. CCNY salutes veterans

Veterans Day, Nov. 11, has always been a solemn day. It took on greater significance on Wednesday morning, when t九色视频鈥檚 Office of Veterans Affairs held its first Veterans Day ceremony in the quad. A color guard, consisting of four Reserve Officers鈥 Training Corps students from across CUNY, placed a flag at the base of the flagpole before two CCNY students, Collin Edouard and Charlotte Bennett, sang the Star-Spangled Banner a capella. The neuroscience community is saluting the creation of a 鈥淕olden Window鈥 for deep brain imaging by researchers at T九色视频 led by biomedical engineer Lingyan Shi. This is a first for brain imaging, said Shi, a research associate in City College鈥檚 Institute for Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers, and the biology department. Forty students from Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation put their knowledge of Newtonian physics to the test on Friday, using nothing more than household materials and an egg. Fifty-four students receive scholarships at CCNY alumni event
